Duckpond House Concert No. 26
Danny Spooner
22 May 2015

The year seems to be flying past. Here it is May and we're having our fourth
house concert already. For this one we welcomed back our good friend Danny Spooner,
who is definitely one of our favourites, as evidenced by the fact that this is the
third time we have had the pleasure of welcoming him to The Duckpond.

Danny's beloved concertina, seen here atop one of Jonni's hand made stools,
is his constant companion, and always a feature of a Danny Spooner conceret.

How can any human brain contain the wealth of songs and stories that Danny brings
whenever he appears on stage. This evening, as he told us tales from his tours of the USA
and Canada, I only heard two familiar songs. The rest were all new to me.

Danny's always good at applying all the necessary accents and brogues
to his stories. Oh how I love a good story teller.

After the audience had left, it was lovely to spend some quietish moments with Danny
and his treasure of a soul mate Gael Shannon.
It was such a pleasure to have them
stay over again that I was even willing to share my marmalade favourites with them for breakfast.

If you'd like to find out more about Danny, go to his website at www.dannyspooner.com
and, if you'd like to get an idea of what the night was like, Jonni has put together a video of highlights.
