Duckpond House Concert No. 33
Martyn Wyndham-Read
16 September 2016

Martyn has claimed recently that this will be the farewell tour of this, his favourite country.
So, we couldn't let it pass without inviting him back again to The Duckpond to tell
more stories and delight us with his unique voice.

We are fortunate that international artists of Martyn's calibre are willing to perform
in our home, and quite a few other homes in this musically rich location.

People must get the impression that I'm never here on house concert nights
but with a new dress to show off, I thought I'd make a brief appearance.

Although an Englishman, Martyn has absorbed much of the musical tradition of Australian
folk music - the music of drovers, bush workers and cane-cutters.
And, of course, there's that wonderful voice!

The sale of CDs helps just a little to defray the enormous costs artists incurr
to make the long haul trip to Australia.

To find out more about Martyn, go to his website at
www.dandadesign.co.uk and, if you'd like to
listen to one of the songs Martyn sang on the night, Jonni has put a video up on YouTube.
